'A fun fantasy and a treat for fairy-lovers everywhere',
September 9, 2009
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA)
"Motherhood is easy for no one, but especially not for Ethywyne Eleganta. "Eleganta" tells the story of fairies off the coast of Dark Age England. For the first time in long time, a new fairy is born. But this young one's life is threatened off the bat, and her mother must travel long and far to keep her daughter alive. "Eleganta" is a fun fantasy and a treat for fairy-lovers everywhere. "

"Hello Mr. Swartzlander,
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed Eleganta. It was so much better than the Lord of the Rings trilogy, mostly because hobbits are fictional and fairies are not. It was much more exciting reading and I immersed myself into it completely. Your descriptions of nature the fairies soaked up felt like I was there with them. But, I have to know what happened to Ethywyne. What became of Preen? Please tell me you're writing the sequel. I can't stand the suspense.
Thanks so much, Jason G."

"I absolutely loved it! The characters and details are enchanting. My 14 year old is reading it now. I caught him up at 2am last night reading. It's really hard to discipline a teenager -- especially a BOY -- for staying up late to read. lol. He has already asked me if there is a 2nd book. I let him know you are already working on one. He says his favorite part so far is the imagery is excellent. We are definitely looking forward to your next novel!
good luck and thank you for such an excellent book!

"I absolutely love the book! It is very well written and has all the elements of a good novel: mystery, danger, humor, romance, tragedy and victory. The creative ways the writer describes the lovable fairies, their unique dwellings and the magical use of the fairy dust on the perilous journey to the Queen's castle is quite imaginative. The value of friendship and trust is shown throughout the novel. I have shared this book with friends and family of different ages and they all love it. Can't wait for the sequel!!

"IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!! Seriously, I loved it! Soooooooo well done! So suspenseful and exciting! I love your descriptions and I totally have pictures in my mind of how things, places and the creatures look. I think Eleganta definitely has the potential to be a best seller. For real. And I can see how you could do a whole series, which I certainly hope you are planning on! Have you started the next because I can't wait to read it!!"

"Eleganta paints a portrait of the world in which we live from the perspective of inhabitants that are often overlooked. The book is gripping and believable throughout and very hard to put down.
The complexity of characters and plot make this a book that I will read many more times. The detail makes visualization a breeze but doesn't bog you down with too much of it.
You should read this book."

Im in love with eleganta.....I hate the trolls!!!!! what monsters!!!! when I read your book I can feel what they are feeling....I see what they see...never when I started this book did I think that so many different creature lives were going to die and be changed....like the goblins, I never thought goblins could be good or have feeling or even LOVE...but you make everything so great with your writing. Its been a long time seen Ive read something that I really love. The harry potter books were the last.....I will be very sad when this book ends...till the next one...."

Alright I will be completely honest, I only got this book on my kindle because it was one dollar. However, after reading Eleganta, I would have gladly paid more!
The writing is fluid, clean and understandable. The emotions are conveyed beautifully and not overdone. This was truely a great read and I can only hope the next book in the Eleganta series comes out soon! "

"This was a lovely book...
The characters were well written, the world building was excellent... I really liked how the author was able to bring the characters to life, and keep their sensibilities so faery-like...
So much room for a sequel, I too hope it is in the works... I would definitely like to dive back into this world. "

"I love the genre of fantasy. When I find a good story I hate for it to end. I was not disappointed by this novel. I truely enjoyed all the characters how each one developed and grew. I am looking forward to reading the sequel."
